Is TKD usefull and good for a street fight ?

i would like to knoe if TKD is good for a street fight or defending yourself in prison against being bullied, etc etc...

i want to take a matial art so i can defend myself very good, and i was just wondering if TKD is usefull for these cases, (especially on the street and bullies in prison)...

please help

Is TKD usefull and good for a street fight ?
Wouldn't you rather avoid ever being in the same environment as bullies in prison?

You could start by not getting involved in street fights.

Just a thought.

TKD if well thought will give you good defensive skills, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. I've managed to spend the last 16 years without getting into a fight. Mainly, because I have a real job to go to in the morning. I can't be bothered with proving stuff to street punks. I have way better things to do, and so should you.

Take care.
Reply:What is TKD?
Reply:im a balck tag in tae kwon do and yes it does help, u larn alot about self defence and getting out of difficult grips that people can put you in, one of my instructors once broke someones jaw by doing a spinning kick that he learnt in class, the guy was in hospital for 3 days lol

Reply:learn to run very fast thats whats good for street fights and bullies in prison because nowadays people carry weapons and if you stand and fight you will most likely get stabbed or bashed in with some blunt object just run like forrest gump
Reply:Tae Kwon Do is an extremely effective martial art, but Judo or Jujitsu are better for defensive/counter-attack moves as they both use the movement of your opponent against themselves.
Reply:Yes any martial art is good for your own defense in street fights and etc, its up to the individual to have enough heart to fight the fight, and how well you apply your martial arts skills in a fight, it all depends on the individual, if your not good at what you do, you can know any martial art and get your butt kicked by a regular street fighter, and its also up to your mental toughness too.
Reply:I will tell you this before you make a BIG mistake. First off any type of martial arts or fight training turns your body into what they call in courts, A DEADLY WEAPON, If you are trained in any form of Martial arts and you use it on someone for any reasons other than self defense you have basically used a deadly weapon. I have a friend right now serving 15 years for attempted murder with a deadly weapon, he was trained in Martial arts someone tried to rob him and he took matters into his own hands, there was no witnesses to the ordeal so they did not take his word now even for self defense my boy has already served 6 years and has quite a few more to go. I would say just by asking questions like this you should find something else to do with your spare time.

Reply:I think you and many who have answered this question have the wrong end of the stick about martial arts.

Martial Arts is not just for the body and if you train with only that thought in mind then you will only experience a little of what Martial Arts has to offer

Martial Arts is also for the mind

A Calm Mind can overcome most situations

However if you are hell bent on learning a Martial Art then i would suggest 'Hapkido' as this not only trains you against normal attackers but also those attackers who like many now have trained in other Martial Arts

"Hapkido practitioners train to counter the techniques of other martial arts as well as common "unskilled" attacks"

so in answer to your question

is TKD usefull and good for a street fight ?

the answer is No if you happen to be on the receiving end of someone who has learned Hapkido
Reply:any form of martial art is useful in any fight

i went for shotokan years ago and it keeps me fit

but before you decide just bear in mind guns and knives have the edge on the streets so try to fight in the arena
Reply:TKD would be good if you were good at it which would take a long time, also if you were good at any martial art but was not of the frame or mind to use it with 100% ccommitment on an attacker it would be useless to you. ie would you be able to push your finger all of the way into somebodies eye or bite a piece of flesh of a person in a street fight? if not in prison you would lose anyway. the reality is that you want to hurt the other person more than and quicker than they can hurt you in order to end the fight.
Reply:Any martial art is only as good as the practitioner. I wouldn't recommend Tae kwon do, but if used properly it can be decent. If you are planning on going to prison, learning to keep quiet and be inconspicuous would probably be very helpful. For prison, I'd use an art with more hand techniques.

I sincerely hope you don't plan on doing something you could go to jail for.
Reply:Though I do not much like TKD.I think it's ok.my favourite is Muay Thai though it uses knees and elbows but its has a really little amounts of ground technics. So my choice for street fights and prison emergencies would be the MMA fighting styles. You can pick up any martial arts moves bit by bit and form an ultimate martial art of your own.You can pick a little from mercyless systema to judo takedowns to wrestling ground moves and many more.Good Luck, Train Hard.
Reply:If that's your only option in your area, then I say go for it. As an art in the United States, which is the only area I am entitled to speak about, Taekwon Do is a shadow of what it once was. The techniques have been watered down due to sport competition and the whole system is full of instructors who have no legitimate claim to their credentials because, nowadays, anyone can get a black belt in Taekwon Do.

Of course, the level of instruction you get is entirely dependent on your instructor. I know some TKD guys who are punks and wouldn't last five seconds in anything approaching a real fight, but I also know some TKD guys who could break my femur with a roundhouse kick. So it's all dependent on how "traditional" and "conventional" your instructor is.

You seem to want a more realistic approach to your martial arts, so you should ask the TKD instructor if his classes are geared more towards self-defense or toward sport competition. You should watch a class or two and see if that school is where you want to be.

But as a whole, I'd say that Taekwon Do is not the art you're looking for. You'd be better looking for a Krav Maga or Brazilian Jiujitsu class. You should also check with your local YMCA and police department to see if they offer any civilian self-defense courses.

Good luck.
Reply:My best advice to you (from experience) is this: Sure, TKD is better than nothing, but if you really want to be good with your hands, find a REAL boxing gym. The ring experience you gain hitting and getting hit will be 1000 times better than anything else you can do.

After you have a few fights in the ring under your belt, THEN you can study another martial art if you want, confident in your abililty to hit and take a hit.
Reply:like any other martial art....it depends on what you learn at the school you decide to train at.....some TKD schools concentrate on flashy crap that has no practical use while others will teach self defense
Reply:It will help you against untrained fighters. It won't help you in prison. I don't know why you are planning to go to prison, but TKD won't help you there, fellow gang members will. Jiu-jitsu is the perfect art for self defense. You will learn to strike, grapple, kick and submit an opponent. Find a mixed martial arts school based on Jiu-jitsu.
Reply:I'm a blk belt in TKD and 7th ku in ninjutsu as well as a varsity wrestler. Now if you are training for a straight up fist fight TKD is a useful martial art as long as you get good at the kicks, now if you want to prepare yourself for a real confrontation that may involve weapons you should do ninjutsu. I know that alot of people say that ninjutsu and ninjas don't exist but if you look up kashiwa bujinkan ninjutsu dojo you will find that it is very real. It will train you how to defend against a variety of attacks as well as how to put down some serious punishment. It also gets you really fit.
Reply:yes but not much. try ju-jitsu it help you controle a fight to either heart someone or keep them from hurting you. anthing that focus mainly on self defense can help.
Reply:From most of the TKD I have seen, no.

Simply because that TKD is based mostly off kicks, and anything above a low kick is too dangerous.

First sports TKD is just about out of the question. It's based off a point-based sports competition. Don't even bother.

Ok, assuming you find a decent school not based on sports, you have to remember, even average thugs know how to do a bum rush tackle. Unless you happen to know at least the basics of groundfighting, I wouldn't bother kicking because of the weakened balance. Also, you have to remember, you're probably wearing heavy shoes outside. It feels considerably different than kicking barefoot on a soft mat.

And no matter what, you need good hand to hand strikes and especially defense. And a lot of TKDers I know don't really have much in that regard.
Reply:Some people believe that training in the martial arts will cause or acerbate violent or aggressive behavior. Most people have been exposed to the martial arts though martial art movies. Other than a few exceptions, such as Karate Kid and the Kung-fu television show, these depictions of the martial arts are always associated with violence. Recently, the popularity of televised unrestrained fighting tournaments has perpetuated this theme. While the martial art are based upon warlike, violent behavior, they also use ritualistic behaviors that seek to avoid or control violence and they train to make these behaviors a part of ones life.

Martial art masters claim that their arts reduce stress and violence in their practitioners, and thus, in the communities in which they live. These are lofty claims, but are they true? Are these claimed benefits any different from those that gained from other sports activities? What specific aspects of martial arts training bring about these changes? If these claims are true, then is martial arts training an effective means to treat people with violent tendencies?

Stress and Violence Reduction

A few studies have shown that a single session a high physical output activity, such as jogging, weight lifting, or a martial art may reduce tension, anxiety, depression, and anger-hostility in participants immediately after the activity. However, more research in this area is needed before any definite conclusions may be drawn about the short-term effects of martial arts training.

In contrast, there are many studies that have examined the long-term effects of martial arts training; most of which have shown positive psychosocial changes in participants. Many of the studies have assessed martial artists with different belt ranks or time of participation. In general, there appears to be an inverse relationship between belt rank or length of time practicing a martial art and anxiety, aggression, hostility, and neuroticism; but there appears to be a positive correlation with self-confidence, independence, self-reliance, and self-esteem. While these results seem encouraging, most of the studies did not account for students who had negative traits and dropped out of the activity and they did not use control groups. Some studies suggest that the style of martial art may be relevant; that certain martial arts might lead to changes more quickly than others might. These results are tempered by the results of some studies that found no effects of martial arts training on personality traits.

When amongst family members, you are forced to deal with family problems. When at work, you are forced to deal with work matters. When at Taekwondo class, you are forced to deal with Taekwondo training. You must deal with your family daily and you must deal with with your job practically every day, but you only deal with Taekwondo training two or three times a week. While training in Taekwondo, all your thoughts about your family problems and work problems are suppressed as you concentrate on your training. Therefore, during the time you are training, you are able to forget your cares and woes and the stress they cause. Not only are you able to reduce your stress while in class, the relaxation techniques you learn in class help you deal with stress more effectively while out of class.
Reply:look mate im sorry to be the one who tells u this but in my opinion tkd looks very impressive and is a great sport art. But in the street you would be better of using an art that is geared for street fighting like wing chun.(much more direct and is proven to work for self defence.)

Isn't wrestling the most important skill in a street fight? So you can pin em down and punch em repeatedly?

South Park characters - Who will win these street fights?

Tell me who you think would win between these South Park characters. Give a short reason after each choice. Please try to be civilized. To even be considered for Best Answer, you have to answer all items, and give a short reason for all choices. In other words, Earn Your Points.

Here are the rules: These are street fights. No weapons! No gloves. No home court advantage. The fight is over when the other fighter is knocked out, or says "I give" (or tries to say it).

1. Cartman vs Token

2. Stanley vs. Kyle

3. Kenny vs. Butters

4. Jimmy vs. Timmy

5. Mrs. Garrison vs. Mr. Mackey

6. Slave vs. Chef

This Question was inspired by Euripedes B. Thank you!

South Park characters - Who will win these street fights?
1. Token cause cartman is fat so he'll be too slow, plus one time kyle punched him and he cried like a baby

2. Stanley, i think he'll win cause he has a lot of practice fighting his sister shelly, he might not win against her but i think he would win against kyle

3. Kenny cause butters is a HUGE push over, i feel REALLY bad for him and he's very naive so kenny will probably trick him somehow

4. Jimmy cause he could beat timmy with his crutches

5. "mrs." garrison would kick mr mackey's butt cause he's like an angry ****** all the time, like the episode where him and the lesbos fought the persians, Mrs. garrison would totally win

6. Chef would win cause Slave likes being tied up and beaten so it's a win win situation
Reply:1) token because cartman's kind of a sissy, and probobly couldn't stand more than a few punches

2) kyle - he has a lot of pent up anger

3) butters -- kenny will die in a freak accident

4) timmy -- he has run over jimmy wht his wheelchair

5) mrs. garrison -- she will fight hard and fight dirty

6) chef -- CHEF IS AWESOME
Reply:token hes black

stan he aint a jew

kenny hes not gay

timmy i consider his wheel chair as a weapon

garrison she gets crazy in her moments

chef hes freakin dark vader

( not being racist just blending in with the south park theme )
Reply:1. Cartman: He'll kick Token in the nuts and that will be the end. I don't care who you are, one shot to the chones and you go down.

2. Stanley: He'd psych Kyle out with the old "...Hey look over there" move.

3. Butters: He is a ticking time bomb. Besides, Kenny always gets his but kicked and hen he dies.

4. Jimmy: Timmy can do much without his chair, and you said no weapons.

5. Mrs. Garrison: She is one wacky hermaphrodite. And she knows Kung Fu.

6. Chef: He is a bad MO FO.
Reply:1. Token~ because cartman will talk his way out of a fight.

2. Kyle~ because he has a bad temper.

3. Kenny~ because he isn't afraid to die.

4. Timmy~ because he has the advantage to stand over Jimmy and wail on him.

5. Mrs. Garrison~ because he'll fight for what he believes in.

6. Chef~ because Slave will just want to screw.
Reply:1: Token, because after all those years of predijice against him from cartman, this is a perfect chance to teah him lesson by some shodow boxing, besides, fat people cant fight for dick, after 5 seconds of movment, the lactic acid takes over them completly.

2. Stan, because kyles pussy morals would come out, then out of the blue get soccer puncheds and get knocked out cold.

3. Kenny, because what does he have to loose. Butter drinks his own pee.

4. Jimmy, he can surve behind timmys chair and break his neck with his critches, not a fair fight by the way.

5. mr. Garrison may be a gaggit, but he would own macky in seconds.

6. Chef, beacuse he knows if he looses, we will no longer be black but a ****** also.
Reply:Cartman because he once threw a rock at Token and he got hurt badly.

Kyle because he mostly fight all the time with Cartman and Stan he never likes to fight.

Kenny because Butters is a wimp and Kenny is not a wimp.

Timmy because Jimmy has to force is body to hit him and Timmy he doesn't need to force his body.

Mrs.Garrison because she has good fighting skills and she likes to fight dirty.

Chef because he is fat and he has more strenghth than Slave.

Who would win in a street fight?

a technical fighter like a boxer or someone in kickboxing etc.

or a street fight who just throws punches like crazy

Who would win in a street fight?
The question of a boxer vs a kickboxer has been answered. Although a kickboxer has more weapons, the boxer would win through sheer punching power. Now that has probably changed with the advent of mma, as a mixed martial artist would probably prevail.

Now a trained fighter is always going to win over an amateur who just swings for the fences.

Pick a fight with Chuck Liddel and see what happens!
Reply:A boxer
Reply:A technical fighter. They know how to best use their strength and energy in a fight.
Reply:boxer
Reply:The one with the baseball bat.

You don't know where it's coming from next.
Reply:boxer when your standing up, jiu jitsu and a few elbows here and there when on the ground
Reply:Kickboxing kicks *** always.
Reply:a boxer for sure. they're trained to anticipate their opponents moves and counter. a street fighter just goes in, balls out, and hopes for the best.

Would a Judoka be able to properly defend himself in a street fight ?

Would someone that has around 3 years of experience in Judo be able to properly defend himself in a street fight agaisnt a normal average guy.

Judo really doesn't seem agressive, so would a judoka be able to use only judo moves to attack his opponent. Would Judokas still use their fists in a street fight, or would they stick only to judo moves.

BASICALLY, what I'm asking is,... is learning Judo going to give you a significant edge in a street fight.

Would a Judoka be able to properly defend himself in a street fight ?
Does a bear crap in the woods? : P
Reply:surely. but i would suggest jujitsu. works 4 street fights or if u r in the CIA! ;)
Reply:Judo like all martial arts has it’s place. Can someone defend themselves with Judo? Yes! But the main focus shouldn’t be on what style a person is using but rather the person him/herself! If you have the warrior spirit meaning the willingness to close and finish the fight and the skill to do so then the majority of the time you’ll come out victorious. Still there are always the variables that will plague you such as: what if the guy on the streets is shirtless and you have only been working on gripping the jacket on the GI then how will you fare? Judo is a sport and should be treated as such although you may be able to defend yourself utilizing it you’d do a lot better practicing in a martial art design for self defence.
Reply:Of course it will.

The techniques being taught will be useful in any aggression situation. I am not advocating street fights in any way and I think you should stay out of them if you can (and 99.9 percent of the time, you can), but yes, judo will help you if you're ever in one.

I knew a woman who was a black belt in judo (second dan or so, I'm not quite sure). She was 5'6", not a big person. She owned a business and one day, a much larger man tried to rob her with a knife. Next thing the guy knew, he was on the floor, is arm was twisted at the joints, he had dropped the knife and he was in horrible pain, begging her to let him go.

That black belt would take you more than 10 years to acquire with diligent study, but you get the idea. The technique are definitely effective.

I suggest you take it.

There's nothing glamorous or honorable about winning a lot of street fights, though ;)
Reply:Naturally, look at Mr. Mike Swain

he could woop ya while he is trying to direct you in the proper way to act in public.

Champion, and much more.
Reply:absolutely. streetfight almost always end up in grappling after 2 to 3 punches. and if this happens, the judo guy will have the advantage if he recovers himself immediately.

i've seen many streetfights and they it always go this way: the attacker swings 1 or 2 punches, even a kick sometimes , but this being a streetfight the defender can run around coz there are no rings or cage. another punch might bring them closer in a clinch. judo guy wins!

i haven't seen a streetfight where a guy was beaten with a combination of more than 4 consecutive punches. there has to be a clinch at some point.
Reply:Absolutely. In street fights, most likely the opponent will have clothes on, which will simulate a gi. And most street fights almost always end up in some sort of clinch. The average street fighter just doesn't have that sort of training to defend a well executed technique. It could even be something as rudimentary as a Ouchi Gari or Osoto Gari. You also have to realize they won't know how to properly fall, so the impact of the technique would be very painful.

Oh and don't forget about all the submissions and chokes available once you get the fight to the ground.
Reply:I wouldnt favor a throwing or grappling art strictly for self defence.

possibilities like concealed weapons or 'friends' are all to real in an unavoidable serious street fight.

i would prefer a striking art like kung fu or mua thai.

i would love to learn ju-jitsu at some point. im planning to take it up once i feel proficient in kung fu, if only to be able to hold my own in that 'field'.

at the end of the day any *serious* training is valuable. even if its only for the mind set.
Reply:You would have the same chance as a wrestler or boxer.

Judo teaches self-defense tactics through its kata in the upper dan (black belt) ranks.

Three years really isn't a long time in Judo. That is probably an orange or green belt level.

I need to learn to street fight.?

Can anyone help me learn to street fight quick? like give me some moves? or websites? thanks .

I need to learn to street fight.?
Fighting is like everything else man. It takes practice. Go to a boxingg gym and watch people. Punch the bag around. Get stronger and quicker.
Reply:street fighting really is more brains than brawn, use what is there, use every advantage, and get it over with fast.
Reply:Palm to the nose... With all your might! Get the whole body including the hips into it. It won't push it into the brain like every one says. It will cause such a bad nose bleed that the lack of blood to the eyes will cause blindness for up to 5 minutes. All you need is 10 seconds to pummel away at your leisure.

i almost forget... If no one is looking and you kick him in the balls. its his word against yours.

And if he takes you to the ground... don't be afraid to push (DONT JAB,) a thumb into his eyes. It will distract him long enough to get your fist into the opposite eyes.

Don't bring a knife. Over half of all stab victims are stabbed with their own blade. And that's coward stuff.

A street fight is bad. Avoid them, they end in hospital visits. That said, fight for your life. Fight dirty. Fight like you're scared, you will be.
Reply:if its street fighting.. u dont learn... u just do it.. brutally... no rules.... go crazy

free style... b a beast....thats y its street fightin
Reply:GET YOUR A$$ TO A MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL. SOUNDS AS IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM THAT YOU NEED TO ADDRESS AS SOON AS YOU CAN. I SUGGEST YOU HIDE UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO DEFEND YOURSELF. THEN GO KICK A$$!!!!
Reply:it sounds like you're getting into a fight. go pick yourself up a copy of the 3 stooges
Reply:OK your not going to master this in 5 min. but this will help. first bring a weapon but ONLY use it if someone draws theirs. second use the environment helps allot. also build Musial brains are important but you'll need Musial to back them up. and that's only the basics.
Reply:Like you will suddenly learn how to fight after read a couple of items.

Even if we all get together to write a book on every possible stragery, tactic, counter, and details, in the end you'll still resort to throwing bunches of haymakers, windmill punch, and other wild punches along with some biting, scratching, hair pulling, and oil checking.
Reply:Judo is a good style. It doesn't involve much strength either. I learned how to trip my opponant and put him in a submission pretty easily. I haven't mastered anything but it sure did help. Plus, you look pretty badass when you're doing it.
Reply:Check out Bas Rutten's self defense videos. You can watch them free on youtube.
Reply:get offa you ****

Reply:Someone else said take a weapon, bad idea. If you are not very skilled with that weapon someone will take it from you and hurt you bad or kill you.

Go down to the hood and get your azz kicked, you will learn or die trying. Just kiddin. There is no fast way to learn self defence. Do not put yourself in a situation where you will be in a fight. Go to a self defence school or martial arts school that teaches self defence, not sport like some art out there are.

Who would win in a street fight ,Chuck Noris, Bruce Lee,or Ken Shamrock?

A street fight with no rules or time limits.

Who would win in a street fight ,Chuck Noris, Bruce Lee,or Ken Shamrock?
Chuck Norris would win with a kick to the face to all at the same time!
Reply:chuck norris... he never loses.
Reply:Bruce Lee. No question.
Reply:I think Ken Shamrock. It was demonstrated in the UFC and another tournaments that the close combat and much important the floor struggling (I don't know the exact name), it's essential and decisive in a one to one combat. Jet Kune Do I think has very little of this techniques and Karate too. The wrestlers, judo men and jiu jitsu fighters can stand a couple of hits until achieving his goal, reach close combat and make a press, throw you to the floor and struggle until they make you an unbreakable grip or something. Then you're lost.
Reply:Maybe Ken if he Clinches? Because he knew some Shoot Fighting! But Bruce lee was trained by grappling by Gene Lebell! CHUCK NORIS WOULDN'T EVEN LAST WITH KEN SHAMROCK! So Bruce Lee would win!
Reply:Street fight: eye jabbing, low kicks, biting, strikes to the throat, small joint and digit manipulation, possibly objects in the surroundings that can be used as weapons, ripping ears, clawing with hands that get shoved in to uncooked rice.................... Come on, bring all the cowboy boots and steroids you want to that fight and speed is still king.

Real Fight: Bruce

Point Fight: Chuck

NHB MMA: Ken
Reply:Bruce Lee by far... he trained Chuck Norris in Jeet Kune Do for some time. Bruce Lee used to train on a 300 pound punching back and was able to kick it to the ceiling. He could explode 100 lbs punching bags with a side kick. The amount of physical training that Bruce Lee put himself through was incredible. He was clocked at 1/200th of a second to throw a punch. He was small, quick, and hit harder than hell. I think it was no contest. And for anyone wanting to say that he would get schooled on the ground- he studied all forms of martial art- pick up the Tao of Jeet Kune Do sometime and read it. Bruce Lee revolutionized how people should study martial art. "Take what you can learn and forget the rest." The formless form. Chuck Norris was too stiff and formulated, Ken Shamrock is just another MMA "movie star" for fanboys. I gave up on UFC after about the third one. Can you say WWF?? Where was Junkyard Dog during all of this?? I would have loved to see Bruce Lee in the UFC/MMA. Then some of the people could shut up on here about it and realize he was a martial artist BEFORE a movie star in all facets. *pant pant* K... enough of that. hahaha
Reply:shamrock. Shamrock is more well rounded. mixed martial artists are the most well rounded fighters in the world. shamrock would take down norris and lee and use his wrestling and submissions against them.
Reply:C'mon.....Bruce Lee is dead. SO if he is able to fight then he must be undead or divinely risen. Either way I am choosing the man that has the power to return from the dead.
Reply:Dude, Bruce Lee would win even if Shamrock and Norris teamed up. Don't forget that he is so fast normal cameras can't see his hands, and don't forget the two inch punch that could send a guy across a room!
Reply:CHUCK!!!
Reply:this one is easy, if bruce lee were alive; of course bruce lee; norris or shamrock have never been in a street fight; they know how to fight when there is a ref; bruce lee used to fight in the streets of HK for his life and reputation; there are accounts of him getting challenged daily even when he was making his movies in HK. these fights had no protective gear, or a mat to fight on, or even a ref to stop the fight.
Reply:Bruce Lee is the greatest Martial Artist of all time.

He is the only fighter ever that no one can match.

Sorry your dead, Bruce.
Reply:Some of you are so stupid. Shamrock would have no problem beating both of them at once. Bruce Lee admited that Muhammed Ali would beat the breaks off of him. Shamrock, on the other hand, could submit Ali in less than 30 sec. Punk Norris wouldn't even show up. He would get killed....literally!
Reply:Chuck Norris.

http://www.chucknorrisfacts.com/
Reply:Whoever shoots first.
Reply:on the street there are no rules, and you're fighting on cement,so grappling on the ground is stupid: not only will you shred your skin off, but there's no ref to stop your opponent from biting, eye gouging, or choking while grappling. To me this rules out ken shamrock. Which brings it down to Norris and Lee, though I admire Norris for his skills he is neither as fast or as skilled as Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee has demonstrated multiple times kicking a 200 lb sandbag over 6 feet, with a kck that tok ess than a second to perform. Lee threw kicks (stronger than any punch) faster than any fighters threw their punches. It would beone kick for Shamrock, and maybe 2 for Norris.
Reply:Bruce Lee no doubt about it
Reply:Bruce lee would win.

Here are some cool bruce lee facts.

- Lee could spring a 235lb opponent 15 feet away with a 1 inch punch.

- Lee'sunstopppable punch is truely unstoppable, even with several steps back.

- Lee's striking speed from three feet with his hands down by his side reached five hundredths of a second.

- Lee's combat movements were at times too fast to be captured on film at 24fps, so many scenes were shot in 32fps to put Lee in slow motion.

- Lee could snatch a dime off a person's open palm before they could close it, and leave a penny behind.

- Lee could throw grains of rice up into the air and then catch them in mid-flight using chopsticks.

- From a standing position, Lee could hold a 125lb barbell straight out.

- Lee could break wooden boards six inches thick.

- Lee performed a side kick while training with James Coburn and broke a 150-pound punching bag.

- Lee could cause a 300-lb bag to fly towards and thump the ceiling with a kick.

He died not because of a silat master or by his wife like many people say.

Do u think that a Street Fight will be good for Umaga and Triple H on Cyber Sunday !?!?!?
it's the best of the three choices, first blood is way to gimmicky plus Trips bleeds at anything anyway (when was the last ppv hhh competed and didnt blade?) and a steel cage match doesnt hold that much thrill anymore all has been done

Reply:That is what I keep voting for a street match. I think this would be fun to watch.

Out of all the street fights on YouTube, post one where you think BJJ would be the most useful?

BJJ has its place in one-on-one organized matches, but in street fights...let's see...

Out of all the street fights on YouTube, post one where you think BJJ would be the most useful?
BJJ is a great sport.
Reply:I think BJJ would be useful in most street fights because most of the people are untrained and eventually fall to the ground. I would think someone trained in another martial art fighting against an untrained person wouldnt goto the ground because they have learned to keep their balance. I think to be successful at all fighting is 80% defense, 20% offense. Learning to move, get stability and then pop.
Reply:BJJ has it's place anytime a fight hits the ground. Guess where most, if not all, street fights end up? The only thing you have to change is simply not to use certain moves, and trust me, it is very obvious to anyone who trains seriously what moves you would not want to use in a street fight.

Does size matter in a street fight ?

im 6'2 and i practice TKD, and i was wonderin if i get into a street fight with a guy thats shorter than me, if i would be able to win

personally, i got alot of advantages because i know alot of TKD so that really helps secondly im very tall

what do you think?

or if i get in a fight with a short guy or a bit shorter than me?

give me opinions please

Does size matter in a street fight ?
no.. whoever has more intensity usually wins
Reply:of course it does. But sometimes smaller, more agile foes can win through strategy and taking advantage of the environment around them.

BUT, nowadays a weak sissy can just pull out a revolver and it'd be over, LOL
Reply:Oh god...I can't even concentrate on the question because of your name.......something about a street fight with a midget....
Reply:In a street fight between men, it is almost always the guy that gets the first clean shot in that wins. Just because you are taller doesn't mean you are going to win.
Reply:Yes it gives you a big advantage. No guarantees though.
Reply:He'll probably be faster and quicker. You just have to out smart him. Use your size and strength to your advantage.
Reply:Its never a sure thing. If both combatants are relatively inexperienced at fighting, Yes the bigger person will probably win.

You may have an advantage, but never assume the person you're fighting is inexperience because he/she is short. Often times short people are good wrestlers.
Reply:You can do it.
Reply:If you learned studio/tournament TKD and get in a rumble in the alley, send me a postcard from the ER.

Tae Kwon Do agrees on a set of rules where you have a given amount of space, areas are off-limits, etc. A smart 'street fighter' will recognize the fact you want to stay away and will use wrist locks, or elbows, or grappling you to the ground, taking away your skills and mauling you.

Remember the Karate Kid: best defense, no be there. If you're learning TKD to kick butt and take names... stay in the ring.
Reply:Actually knowing how to fight helps. Best bet in a street fight is flight.

If you are talking about a few inches it won't be much of a factor.

If it is like a 2 foot difference... why are you picking on little people?
Reply:No, size doesn't matter. It's skill, stamina and intensity that counts.

I'm 5"2 and all of the people or sparring partners i've ever had have been between 5"11 and 6"7. I've only ever lost two matches.

If you were to face a shorter person, no offence, but he or she would most likely be faster than you.

Although you would have a bit of advantage being taller(i.e. longer arms and legs so you don't have to go in as close to attack....You'd probably be a bit out of their range)
Reply:Nope, I also studied various martial arts and when I was real active I never lost to people that had me by 50lbs or more. I also lifted weights and had less than 10% body fat, but the rule is; connect first and its generally over with. Always remember a midget could jump up and clip you in the family jewels and kick your butt!

Second, thinking that you are a badass and getting into a street fight, could end up with someone poking a few holes in you with a 9mm. Trust me, I've been shot with a 9mm with hollow points and it "smarts" a "little" as well as leaving fairly large exit wounds, 9 years later I still don't have feeling in some parts of my body. As I've gotten older I perfer weapons myself and being a combat veteran, I really do know how to use them and will, if I think my lifes in danger!
Reply:I don't think size matters in a street fight,

...unless you're taking your pants off!

You're not taking them off are ya??
Reply:size matters, speed and power matters, skill matters and luck matters. thats life.
Reply:Size matters to an extent , thats why before pro bouts , they usually show the fighters reach along with weight and age ect. When striking reach advantage can be a plus , but a good striker can bob and weave and use your own height againts you , by coming on close and boxing inside the pocket , a great example would be Mike Tyson 5.11 Heavyweight.

Also in a streetfight you can be fighting a short stalky guy who can be a good wrestler or a submision fighter , and reach dont matter anymore once you hit the ground , then the compact stalky guy has the advantage.

So if you are a taller guy like yourself. then use that to your advantage. use your jab to keep the opponent far away , and use your long legs with pushkicks and side kicks. And for your own sake please dont try any of that spinning butterfly kick stuff.
Reply:Firstly:

Tae Kwon Do traditionally teaches wrist locks, elbows, and knees. Don't assume because the olympic style is the prominent type you see, that it's a standard. Many schools these days are cross training with grappling, and other arts such as BJJ and Hapkido as well. YOU FAIL!!!

Secondly:

Size is a factor in a street fight (Both height and weight), but it is something that works around your skills and fighting attributes (Speed, power, timing, heart, stamina, and so forth). That's if you see it from a TMA perspective: If you have great attributes, then they matter more. Someone that is taller than you may not have the extra power, speed, and so forth. Someone shorter than you might have that, and whatever other variation. You should keep it in your thoughts, but someone with those attributes are what you should watch out for.

When you're talking of moderate difference, they may even had advantages. I'm 5'11", but my armspan is 6'2". That helps me. lol

If your muscle-bound friend doesn't have any idea about throwing punches, then he might have an disadvantage, unless he grapples. It's endlessly complicated though. You should definitely elude the situation if you can, but you shouldn't freak out if someone is a little taller, bigger, and xyz than you. You have to compare your abilities and skills with that of your opponent (Or rather what your think they may have). I mean, if the tallest person in history (Robert Wadlow) had the muscles of an MMA fighter: I would not **** with him. :p

If someone the size of my brother (5'6", about 170-180 of lean muscle) wanted crap, and I couldn't elude: Then I would fight. That's biased of me, because my brother is a martial artist and fitness head. But of course if they're just muscles, then it might not say anything of there fighting skill. lol

Just keep it in the back of your mind, but don't have nightmares about it. Good luck, and I would advocate that you cross train in grappling to get well-rounded.
Reply:You're talking about height. It is an advantage -- especially against untrained people who arent' particularly good at closing distance.

Weight matters more, though. The heavier you are, the more weight you can potentially put behind your shots.

If you get into a fight with somebody shorter than you, winning or losing will depend on a whole slew of things. Height and weight are definitely amongst them, but they're far from the only determining factors.
Reply:Of course not.

I hope you know the concept of ranging. Suppose you opponent is short but good.

You are tall and do more kicking(TKD), you are in the advantage when you fight Long Range. This mean you can attack from a longer distance but opponent can not. You can kick from a distance but your opponent can not.

However there are some disadvantages with long range. You have to use long weapons (kick or staff) which tends to be slow because it has move more mass and more distance to travel to make contact. However If you keep distance from your opponent then can win the fight.

Then there is close quarter fighting (close range). As the name implies the distance between you and your opponents is just a matter of inches. This is where a shorter guy has the advantage. At close quarters you can not kick because you do not have the distance to execute it. Your opponent can use his hands ( punch, grapple or worst stab you with a knife) to attack you but you can not recounter. This is specially true because many fights flare out in bars where the fight is close quarter. Even worse TKD can not fight well in close quarters because it does not encourage the use of the hands.

I sometimes spar with TKD, stay close to them and they can't do anything.

From training in Dekiti Tirsia Siradas, tactics and techniques can negate the advantage of size any time.
Reply:The person with more skill in sparring/fighting usually wins.

However being tall gives you an advantage over those who are shorter, But being short also have an advantage which those who are tall don't. Being tall, you have an advantage of hitting/kicking them at least over the head, but it would take you longer to finish your attack. Whereas the shorter people can trip you from the bottom even though they don't have the advantage to hit/kick very high unless they can jump very high and kick. Shorter people have an advantage to be able to see your attack fast enough to dodge it because tall people have long arms and legs so once the tall person starts and attack, it's easy to see where the attack is coming from unless you are super fast in punching/kicking.

In a street fight, people don't fight fair so even if you do practice and know a lot of TKD moves, you may not win the fight.

I think my opinion was confusing @_@.
Reply:"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."

But, if you practice TKD, you should be well trained to AVOID fighting if at all possible.
Reply:Honestly if you have enough time to determine that your opponent is smaller than you, then it wasn't an unexpected attack or a blindside. This should give you time to resolve the situation peacefully. Either by making a joke, attracting attention so there are witnesses(in case you do fight and it goes to court), playing a fool, drooling, acting retarded, etc.

That being said there is a old saying that a good big man will beat a ggood small man anytime, but nothing is certian. Look at Matt Serra vs. JSP.
Reply:You better hope that the tiny guy doesn't do BJJ or you're screwed!
Reply:it doesnt matter how big you are, if youre gonnae get attacked and the guy is bigger than you and you think sh!t im gonnae lose you will lose, youre frame of mind is what counts, if a guy is smaller than you like in your case, you wont nessecarily win just cause youre bigger, they could be a better fighter than you, theres always someone that is a better fighter than you it doesnt matter where you go in the world.
Reply:hey hey..you study tkd wel.. me and my dad have been doing tang soo do for a very long time and from experiance no hight does not matter at all...we are both very small i mean weve won champion ships agains people ouble the size of us...its how you do things. aha any more questions just ask mee yea.

:):)
Reply:Haha, you do TKD! LMAO! Height is nothing, especially when you're on the ground getting KTFO!
Reply:size dose not mater i seen guys that are 5,5 and wipe a 6,0 guy all over the place and i have seen vise verse it just mater what is in your hart i have see karate guys get there a s s whoop buy a guy that has no martial arts experience what so ever

Does tae kwon do help in a street fight?

I always get into fights I can't handel there always street fights and I dont start them they come to me is tae kwon doe gonna help for street fights?

Does tae kwon do help in a street fight?
Of course. It's more self-defense oriented.

Try running your mouth a little less and perhaps the fights won't come looking for you.
Reply:no
Reply:No.

But neither will most other martial arts.

They're not *supposed* to work for a street fight.

They do work well within their own context-- whether it be competition, spiritual, or self-defense. But most martial arts won't work for street fighting-- because that's not what they were intended for.

And, fights don't "just happen." To get into a fight with someone else, you would have to

1) deliberately go to places where fights are likely to happen. Or, hang out with people who are likely to fight.

2) be a real prick and tick someone off badly enough for them to react.

3) then *engage* them in that fight. ie., STAY there and try to duke it out instead of escaping. Very bad idea.

There's an old saying espoused often on the website I posted below, and it's very true:

"It takes two to fight." There is no "good guy" in a street fight, and cops know this.

You sound pretty young... if you're still in school, know that you can and will be expelled for fighting. (That won't look good on job resumes or college applications, by the way.) Once you enter the adult world, you are very likely to end up dead or in prison if you continue to get into fights.

Read this page and you'll see more of what I'm talkin' about.

Reply:I would have to say that any knowledge of fighting and defense would help in a street fight. Just remember the old saying, "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight!"
Reply:I get to fight a few times a week, I am a bouncer at several clubs and I have to say 99.9% of the time there will be no time or space to get off high flying kicks, I use my BJJ chocks and locks most of the time to escort people out of the clubs and also when ingaged in a fight, also judo comes in very handy, not many people are ready to be grabed and thrown down. If your looking to learn to defend your self in every day events Krav ma ga is also excellant!
Reply:i have been in TKD (Tea kwon do, judo kwan style, hope i spelled it right) for seven years, i have to say some of it is good for a street fight. Most of it is not; one is not going to try to do a jumping turn back side kick in a real fight, probably a turn back side kick (if your fast).what TKD lacks is practical hand techniques and grappling. What TKD has is the best kicks in the world, the kicks can hit hard and they are faster than Muy tai kicks.why do i say that, Muy tai kicks w/ the shin and they try to lay one out w/ one kick. TKD sets up kicks and takes kicks w/ the top of the foot. From what i noticed, from experience, is that TKD kicks work with the leg muscles using a snapping motion (were the power comes from) in the kicks. Muy Tai kinda just swings it out there, trying to plow one over . over all, Muy tai is more wheel rounded and better for a real fight. if i had to pick one style it would be judo or i'd go to a place that does krav maga. An MMA gym would also be vary vary effective in a street fight.

- some body correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm sure i'm not.

- hope i helped :)
Reply:if you pratice hard ya its good for street fight and it depen what belt you you have to black to defend your self in tae kwon do
Reply:somtimes it does sumtimes it doesnt but what u got to do is

dont fight back, block their movies or dodge it and dont harm them and usualy ppl wouldnt come after u

i had the same problem
Reply:Training in any martial art will increase your speed, reflexes and stuffs like this. It will most probably of some help. But the best is still training with your basketball team or track and field teams. Their training packs more power for running away and avoiding a fight.

Running away is not the way of a coward, It's the way to ensure that you haven't lose.
Reply:yea
Reply:absolutely Yes!

In the practice of Tae Kwon Do you learn drills and skills, kicks, punch, and blocks.

You also learn to do patterns or forms or poomses

the purpose of these patterns is so one can defend themselves against various attackers in different directions

If you train and practice everyday you should be able to defend yourself and KO your opponent.

BUT, you must remember that within this discipline comes the art of patience and self control. so if you can walk away from a fight this prooves that you are mastering the art.
Reply:Somewhat, yes. As with most martial arts, some of the training with be of use in a real street fight. No, telegraphed high kicks may not be the best option, but evasion, endurance, speed, and hand techniques are all benefits of training in Tae Kwan Do.

Remember, TKD stylists react faster than any other martial artists.
Reply:Tae kwon do will definitely improve your odds at recieving

the beating of your life, not to mention making an **** of

yourself in front of your friends!!!
Reply:First of all, I don't believe that you don't do something to start them or at least egg it on.

That is bull.

But to answer your question, TKD is only good enough to get your butt kicked, unless the guy you are fighting is called "Erkel".

Boxing and Judo or Jiu Jitsu is the way to go. Boxing for standup and Judo or Jiu Jitsu to make them pay on the ground.
Reply:Hi. My name is Jasen T. Davis. I have studied martial arts for nearly 18 years.

My first art was Tae Kwon Do. I have a master red belt (which is the last belt before a black belt) from Pomona Tae Kwon Do under Master Dae Woong Chung.

I quit Tae Kwon Do after I got into a streetfight. How's that for answering your question? LOL!

There are serveral rules in a streetfight.

1) Don't fight. You'll go to jail.

2) Don't turn your back on an opponent.

3) Don't kick above the waist.

4) Well, don't kick at all.

5) Some fights end up on the ground.

Sadly, TKD breaks rules 2, 3 and 4. It will also not prepare you for 5. The hand techniques in TKD are also not very effective.

TKD is great exercise and is a good sport. I still practice. But there are better arts to learn to fight.

Here is what you sould do:

Go learn Brazillian Ju Jitsu, or some sort of wrestling art. They are rather popular, and although you should never fight on the ground, the experience will prove invaluable should your opponent not be so enlightened.

After that, go learn boxing. It's hard work, but after a year you will be pretty good. Hitting an opponent with a closed fist in the face is not very smart, but the movements of boxing...shedding, slipping, etc. will be very valuable for avoiding damage and keeping your cool if you are hit in the face. Plus, an uppercut to the solar plexus will stop most people.

Finally, learn Aikido. It takes a long time, but even the basics are great for avoiding violence and knocking people down if they try to hit or hurt you. The philosophy will also make you a better person, although you seem like a nice enough guy right now. After a year or two in Aikido you'll have a good foundation. Hell, get a black belt and do work as a bouncer.

Don't fight. If you are fighting you are part of the problem. Martial arts will help you beat your own ego. Your worst opponent is yourself. Fighting leads to prison, lawsuits, hospitals and maybe the morgue. You'll at least spend a night in jail for fighting.

Good luck! You can contact me at jasendavis@yahoo.com if you have any other questions.

How to win a street fight?

I know the obvious answer is to walk away. That's not what I'm looking for. There's alot of beef in my school lately and I tend to shoot my mouth off a little so I know eventually I'm going to get into a fight. This is a fair fight between two guys that disagree about something. so dont say kick in the groiin or any of that dirty stuff. I want to know straight up good techniques to use during a street fight, where you usually aren't boxing with your opponent and picking your punches.

How to win a street fight?
There was a move we learned in aikido. If possible join that class. You step in, with the foot you stepped in with, you pivot around so that you are on the side of the person rather than the front. After that it is your choice, in street fighting, i would use my foot and place it underneath the other person's foot when the move to either face you or turn their body to attack you. This would give you leverage and you can throw the person off balance. Just make sure your foot doesn't get crushed in the process.

A more practical advice, "weigh your words before your utter them" Your words hold the power of destroying this world.
Reply:Street fighting is fighting dirty.
Reply:keep your hands up to protect your face. make sure you're breathing out each time you throw a punch to regulate your breathing so you can keep swinging and if they try to counter you to the stomach you will be exhaling and you're stomach won't have any air in it at the time so you won't get the wind knocked out of you. keep moving so you're harder to hit. knee's to the face are always good they will stop dood's in their tracks. and if it's a street fight make sure you do what you gotta to make sure you don't get jacked up short of killin the guy. and don't talk crap at a hostile place if you don't know what you're doin... you'll live longer dood
Reply:Asking how to win a street fight is asking someone to predict the future. There are so many possible factors that can affect the outcome that it's impossible to have a win-all situation. Is it summer or winter? Is it day or night? How many other people are nearby? Are they strangers or people who may decide to step in if you/your opponent starts loosing? Does someone have a weapon? In my opinion it's just not worth it, sure you can beat the crap out of someone but that dosen't prove anything other than the fact that you aren't smart enough to get out of that situation in the first place. Rather then prepare for the eventuallity of a beating I suggest you try working on keeping from shooting your mouth off and coming up with better, more mature ways of handling things. Good luck to ya!
Reply:Ok, I don't condone violence, but if you find yourself in a street fight that is not your fault, you still have to defend your self.

This is a link to a 6 minute video by Bass Rutten, the man. He's a K-9 fighter (like UFC) and he has some tips for winning a street fight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKIm_E_jo...

Even if I don't get best answer, you've got to watch this video. It is ripping good fun.
Reply:Well, interesting question.

Keep it simple. DON'T think about techniques too much trying to remember them.

Do not use high kicks if you are the one who launches the first strike.

Bruce Lee said: "If you try to remember, you will lose".

Try to attack the nearest target: shins, knees, balls, etc.

Once you hit one opponent, try to run! Do not stray there fighting.

Learn also grappling. but try not to go or to fall to the ground whenever possible.
Reply:1 thing is try nerve pinching like the 1 in the elbow grab the hand and pinch the joint and paralyze him or trip him and get up quickly if you on floor and grab his legs and step down on his butt so he cant get up another move is to hit the neck alot because then they will breath abnormally but they will heal so dont worry about it but dont kick like bruce lee on the neck or sumthing but remember the nerve pinch you can keep fighting or do the nerve pinch and then runaway because theres 2 ways to win a fight, beat up the person then have him surrender or 2. inflict lots of damage to him and run away its not being chicken as long as you put some good moves on em
Reply:Well you don't fight back, you defend yourself, your life is not all about fighting. And also fighting leads to jail- You fight when your a kid- you get detention. Fight when your an adult- You go to jail.

But, how to DEFEND yourself is always keep your guard up, if you see you oppenent swing block or dodge it, DON't swing back. Eventually he will tire and the fight will be over. Another technique is when HE swings catch his wrist between your wrists and deflect downward. If you sense danger, such as a hit coming but you have no time to block THEN THAT IS THE ONLY TIME YOU SWING.

But remember, life is not about fighting, so stay up and don't smoke!
Reply:The best defense is the best offense , take it to them hard fast and overwhelm them giving it all you got , don't even let them catch a breath just keep swinging and aim for the temples on the side of their head and knock them out putting a quick end to it . I'm 50 years old and have never had my *** kicked and never had a fight last over 5 minutes tops .
Reply:fight him hockey style, grab shirt/head, and start hitting with unoccupied fist. The clench is the key in winning a street fight, there's not a lot of dodging it's all about grab and jab. The fiercer guy always wins.

I saw some street fights and...?

I saw some street fights and...?

damn those people cant fight, they just swing wildly and dont know the meaning of kicking or knees and once there on the ground they dont know what to do

is this what people do if they are not trained in a martial art

take a look at this video is this good representation of martial art, even though he could have avoided it

http://youtube.com/watch?v=jxix0ygcvk0.....

I saw some street fights and...?
No matter how good you get at the "fight" game

there is always someone with your number in their pocket !!

So, if you're one of these folks that are into this stuff for the power and glory of the "game" -- you can expect to have your lunch served to you on a bed tray sooner or later !!
Reply:the link wouldnt open...

anyway street fighters have the eliment of surprize on their sides.they wont hesitate to pick up whats next to them either. usually street fights have NO NEED for ground work. once you hit the ground you pretty much lost especially if he's got friends. Usually people who street fight have back up somewhere and its usually behind you! this is where martial arts MMA is usefull more than any other style. its not over kill and they can stand up and finish you or take you down. you simply need to be well rounded to kick *** efficiantly these days because a lot of people are starting to learn more and more "practicle arts".
Reply:the link dont work.. but yea its true they just randomly swing... lol that how this 1 guy described a good fighter 2 me lol
Reply:those street fights with the swinging is actually a technique developed by "Flint", this guy: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?... , he calls it 'teh d34dly Trailer Park Propeller'
Reply:Who knows whether what you saw is representative of what the 'tough' guys do. I think what you saw shows the difference between self-estimation based on emotion and your own sense of what's right from you r training.

After living a long time in the Bay area I am now living in a great, polite, very macho part of the US, and while I've met a lot of guys(and women too) who are very strong-minded and opinionated I have not yet met anybody who really, by MY standards, can fight. No, that's wrong...two guys, two brothers, and they were training for the ring, in great shape with some great techniques.

But mostly anybody who's dangerous will have taken enough interest in the skills to have learned and practiced a few, and that's VERY rare.

I just give everybody total respect, hide my own skills, break the opponent if I need to, and let the fools slam each other around...it's entertaining. If you've paid your dues, it's OK.

But you should realize: if a guy who's studied finds out that normal doofus peole are stupid about fighting, something they think they have a right to have an opinion about, well, what does that tell you about people who have opinions about...international relations, or sex, or God, or...? see, you could be living among a LOT of opinionated incompetents in a LOT of fields...why not become an expert in something? don't voice your opinion: just study and practice privately a LOT and get the goodies, don't fight with anybody.

all the best from a VERY old martial artist who's thumped a lot of people in streets and alleys and other places...thanks for the video and question.
Reply:All u need is to throw one good punch and thats it. Violence is a very bad thing though. Peace baby! :)
Reply:Yes. That is extremely typical of untrained fighters. That doesn't mean that they aren't dangerous.

In a street fight?

i know this is a dumb Question but who do you think will win in a street fight the great kahli or ice cube the rapper

i think ice cube

In a street fight?
depends if ice cube's got a gun
Reply:Ice Cube. I don't think Kahli is a good wrestler, he's just big and hard to knock down.
Reply:ice cube. Kahli, all he can do is scream and look tough. Hes just to tall and rough, he shouldnt be allowed to be in the wwe.
Reply:u people are morons. If the guy that plays "khali" got a hold of that fat loser ice cube, khali would literally tear off his torso.
Reply:Khali would kill kim. Just look at him. He's huge
Reply:Kahli would crush him like a Chilean seedless grape.

Reply:Let me tell you, It depends on the situation. If i could help i would if i couldn't i would I would call either the cops or 911. I would make soure i did something. My daughter is 16, 15 at the time and some 49 yr old man tried to get her in a car and failed thank God! She ran and turned around to get his plate and call 911. there was over 10 people there at the bus stop and not one person helped her men or females! he beat my little girl! kicked and punched her for refusing to take a ride from him! I thank god she faught back! that made him even more pissed off! Not one person helped her they said, "I thought it was her boyfriend." then one person said,"i thought it was her dad." she doesn't look like a person that would have a man that old! and it was 4pm in tha afternoon at a trainstaiton! I'm so greatful that on man that was parked at a light saw everything and sped into the lot and almost ran him over. After my daughter faught back and ran again he chased her and beat her a second time! that made it possible for the cops to get him..not to mention he stayed and said she attacked him! So please anyone that can do something do it. dont just ignore it. You don't have to jump in you can just call 911 and witness it give a description. My daughter was kicked punched and beat by someone she don't know who is now awaiting trial and who is also out on the streets with 4 priors for domestic assaults on females on 500 cash bail..Go figure the system sucks..

I street fight but well please help??????

i put this in the anime section cause anime people always have wize words so please help me!!! i street fight and well im thinking of stoping cause im good i never lose but like i just dont get it everytime after a fight i fell so badfor the other person And i always call them up to say sorry but why do i do that i thought i was badass And well like lets say i won the fight and the guys on the floor and like everyone else always does your supposed to finish him off but i never can i always just end up walking away why i should stop street fighting and im only 16!

I street fight but well please help??????
You should stop. Like you said, you're only 16... There are so many other things you could be doing at that age that you won't ever have the chance to do again for a really long time. Trust me. If something that you do makes you feel so badly about yourself, you shouldn't be doing it in the first place. And on top of that, not only are you LITERALLY hurting other people (to the point where they may actually die, no less), but you're only hurting yourself.

Listen, I don't know what influence you've had on you to make you want to resort to this kind of lifestyle, but life isn't all about being badass. You don't have to beat up other people to feel good about yourself. You are only 2 years short of becoming legal. Once you get there, the consequences for your actions are entirely different than when you are 16. Stop now while you still can. Put your effort, time, and passion into something long-term and worthwhile, something that will benefit others as well as yourself.
Reply:And the question is? It looks like you don't want to win and I guess you definitely don't wont to loose, so what do you want?

Internet street fights are sad. Don't you think so? Alot of times they are brutal and are not about defense.

And what do the parents think when they see their child getting brutally pummeled in some street/ school fight on the internet? And what type of person would film such brutality. Don't get me wrong. I am an adult and I enjoy boxing and martial arts. I am a big fan and I am a decent fighter who is in good shape. But some of these kids don't know how to defend themselves. And I hate to see someone pin someone to the ground and keep punching someone over and over and see nobody stop the fight. Especially the female fights. Very brutal because there is no defense. These fights say alot about the sad state of humanity. And I know, people have been fighting forever. But still, we should progress past this point. You see more and more of these brutal fights on the internet. I'm gonna stop watching.

Willys cynical thought for the day;

All these arguments online reminds me of a pic, I may still have it (?), it says, "Arguing online is like winning the 'Special Olympics' even if you win you're both still freaking retards!"

Reply:Ok I first say one of these when my son was cracking up on the internet (myspace). I think it is wrong, wrong, wrong. It gives the sick idea that is ok to go out and do this with no recourse. The best thing is to stop watching. If more and more people do then their wont be the desire for it.
Reply:I'm totally agree with you

Internet is a double edged weapon
Reply:Um... okay I pretty much just shop online.
Reply:Wait, what is an Internet street fight? I have not heard of this.
Reply:i agree..BUT i did see one online where a Guy was all pumped up and (by himself) Jumped up and slammed his head sideways into the rear windshield of an explorer...Smashed the thing to pieces,,and acted like nothing happened,,,lol...the guy he was fighting ran away lol
Reply:thay are not internet street fights. they are fights that are

recorded by camera and upload to the internet. but you have a point

some people buy a camera.get drunk and say lets kick some butt. and record it and put it on the internet. but if they lose we will never

see the tape. how many fights that are or not recorded that

happen. we will never know.
Reply:I grew up around a lot of fighting, and usually, cameras and weapons were involved. (saw this guy's arm cut off with a machete during a street fight) Ususally, they weren't fights - just attacks on people. This is why there is no 'defense'. In the 'hood, you mind your own business or you end up in a ditch somewhere. I've seen people shot, stabbed, beaten, stomped, jumped, thrown over a clif - all kinds of ****. And usually, I didn't get involved. That is why I am alive to answer your question.

What you see on the Internet is child's play. These well-fed sheltered fools fight, but they do it just for entertainment and shock value. Sometimes, I still have nightmares about the numerous incidents I have witnessed or been involved in first-hand.

I am a martial artist myself - Systema, Taekwondo, Sambo, Hung Gar. Being a martial artist, you DO realize that what goes on in the dojo is totally different than what goes on in the street. Nobody gives a flying **** about hitting a man while he's down. There are no rules in street fighting whatsoever. I know this because I killed a man with my bare ******* hands when I was 16 in self-defense.

To me, this is worse than some Internet video, so I suggest you get out more and get a thicker skin. Make one wrong in the dojo, you get up and fix your belt. You **** up on the street, you will end up on the 11 o' clock news. I don't worry about his myself, because I have seen true savagery first-hand.

If you lose your boxing/mma fight license can you still get in trouble for fighting on the street?

what i mean is if your license is revoked or expires can you still get in the same amount of trouble as a active professional fighter because pro fighter can be charged with a deadly weapon just by using there hands a non fighter may only get charged with battery. but what if u don't have a license anymore? i was thinking of being a fighter but I want to be able to defend myself on the streets as well

I find difficulty fighting with some street fighters??

When people fight with their own style, they move around and i find it hard to attack them.Is there any ways i can attack them in a easier way??

I find difficulty fighting with some street fighters??
Per,

Street fighters generally have a few things in common, one of which is they do not train as hard as those of us who learn to fight in the gym. They run out of gas fairly quickly and become stationary targets. Easy pickins!

Here is what you do: (for right-hander's) At the beginning of a fight with a street type fighter, keep your distance. Give them a lot of fakes and not a lot of punches or kicks. Let them expend their energy first, then you attack. Believe me the fakes will, by themselves wear them out. Don't kick at all, and when you do punch, just throw left jabs and nothing else to set them up for the straight right later. An inexperienced street fighter will always fall for this most basic tactic. Jab, jab, jab, jab.....that's all you do for the first couple of minutes or even the first two rounds, until you sense that the opponent is wearing down, then throw a couple of leg kicks immediately followed by a jab and then the hardest jab/straight right punch combo you can deliver. It is the most basic set-up there is, but It works every time on an inexperienced fighter like you are talking about.

Have fun!
Reply:I once asked My Sensei a similar question. His response was "If you want to become a better fighter then get in more fights." But really why would you want to fight like that? If on the other had you are refering to fighting in martial arts tournaments where things are controlled %26amp; there are rules %26amp; refs etc well then I suggest you train hard, practice often, %26amp; spar with as many different fighters as you can. Try a few different martial arts as well to get different perspectives on fighting.
Reply:Let out a big fart! Make it a stinker. Your opponent will either stare in disbelief or start laughing. Then let another one rip, and go attack him.
Reply:Sounds like you're just not used to fighting people that fight with different strategies to you... Try and expand your training to spar with as many people as you can from as many differnt systems as you can, you can learn something from everyone.
Reply:Keep fighting in the street to prove yourself like you do and sooner or later, someone is a) going to pull a weapon on you b) have four - five friends waiting to jump in you're not aware of or c) turn out to be much better than you and beat you to an inch of your life.

You could find yourself in a hospital bed with stuff broken beyond repair, or worse.

Street fighting is not a game. I for one would not teach anything to anyone who wants to use it that way.
Reply:Yeah, try to learn a new style yourself, they improvise a lot, with training, you rely on it, rather than to "go with the flow" If you want to throw them off guard, try faking a few before actually contacting with a strike, also, do you know how to grapple? if not, that is one very important one to learn, it will teach you how to improvise, and adapt to different, and changing situations, tried and true vs hard and new, make the choice, tried and true can be thwarted by new and changing styles, eventually you will find one style will render you obsolete, adaptation is the key.
Reply:Yes. Make them come to you.

Master Troy Messer
Reply:learn to street fight yourself they usually have more experience since all there training is "hands on" they cut all the crap you dont need to know like learning another language or breaking boards, wearing pyjamas or theory.

They get into it full on
Reply:the first thing is most ma techniques dont work in street fighting.

but if you must then i suggest using small linear movements and shorter harder(more force) and faster techs.

hope this helps
Reply:That's the whole point, not getting hit. Finding your own way of fighting, as I have professed, is the only and best way to become a better fighter. Don't expect to fight with a fighter when you can only play tag, do kata or know pre-arranged one step. There is a "Grand Canyon" of distance between a fighter and a martial artist. As long as you keep the blinders of "tradition" on you will not see. As long as the yoke of kata rests upon your shoulders you will not win. Expand and learn. a real fighter will over come any traditional martial artist. In the end that is all. You can profess your spiritual highness or your tradition all you want but in the end, if that gets my *ss kicked I'll forgo such stuff and be the one that walks away, rather than the one in the hospital and a knowledge of history or a sense of tradition. In the end you must decide do I want to truly know how to protect myself or do I want to be lying in the hospital wondering why my kata or one step failed me?
Reply:Try another style. Maybe you learned martial arts for a day or two, thats not enough. Years my friend, years.
