An unfair fight? is there any rules to street fighting???

if you get in any real street fight, or any other fight (not tournaments)





is there any rules? like no eye poking or kick in the groins.. or is that just an unwritten street fighting rule?

Are you talking about a fight for survival, or about two young jackasses trying to prove ''whose the toughest"?





The problem is always in a street fight that one side may see the fight far differently than the other side does. A sure fire ingredient for tragedy.





Anyone with significant training in martial arts who goes looking for a street fight deserves to get his hiney whipped.

Reply:In a street fight you never know if the person you're fighting has a weapon or if three of their friends are behind you. I say that there are no rules for street fighting, only survival.

Reply:Today there is no Honor in most as to the streets. A gun is as easy as anything, as is a later date. The honor some speak of is seen in the UFC and Pride, and in their fighters. This is the honor of Martial Artists, not street toughs. A big difference.


Now alot say about no rules on the streets... You honestly don't think BJ Penn or any of the great fighters on UFC last night can't street fight no rules... Those folks were great last night, I was impressed with not only fighting skills, with their Honor... To cool


It is more difficult to win fairly, then not. So they still have the advantage.

Reply:You should not get into street fights unless someone is giving you absolutely no choice (and that's known as an assault, not a fight).





Street fights are illegal to start with. So once you're in one, you've already broken the rules.


If you keep getting in them, sooner or later, you'll get in one with the wrong person. This person may have no qualms about pulling out a weapon, they may have friends waiting to jump you. You may meet a guy who tells you to go outside in a bar and has friends waiting to mug you.





The answer is don't get into street fights.


If you keep getting into them, it's because you have a chip on your shoulder and problems with self-control. What you need is a therapist, not a sensei.
Reply:I've got a rule. Leave, and quickly - there's no honor to earn in such a situation. None of my friends are going to give me any respect or praise if I tell them i knocked the crap out of someone - because my friends are all decent people. If I get the crap knocked out of me that isn't likely to earn me many points either of course.

Even if you two state rules, if you start to win what assurity do you have that your opponent would stick to them?





If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in a streetfight, you'd better either get out of there or do what you can to keep yourself alive.





I've seen fights go both ways...sometimes the fighters are honorable and stick to their rules and sometimes things go ugly.
Reply:It depends what you are fighting for, if your fighting for your life there is no rules, if you are fighting for respect like in school or something because you want to stand up to bullies its better not to fight dirty, it all depends on the situation





I would say to avoid fight, but if the fight happons without YOU wanting it to happon anything goes, including weapons

Reply:Yes. There are state and federal laws that will apply to an assault, unless it is self defense. Even then you can be charged with using excessive force. You also have civil laws where you or your parents get sued for your actions. We are all held accountable for our actions.





As far as fighting rules go, there probably is not going to be a referee around. However, most people do not go full on for eye gauging, biting, groin strikes, etc, until the other guy does something like that. If you do resort to "anything goes" just know be prepared to take what you give.





I know these type of questions are intriguing to the people who watch fights on TV and fantasize about what they think they would do. There really isn't anything I would call fighting dirty, but I'm not a bully, so I would always only be defending myself or someone else.





The best rule I know of is to stay out of a fight unless there is no other choice. If you have to defend yourself, then do it as quickly as possible and get away. If the groin is open, there is nothing wrong with striking there in self defense. The fact is striking to the groin, eyes, and throat are taught as self-defense tactics.
Reply:There are no rules and I would (and have) done anything to protect myself or those around me short of killing someone and if it became necessary to do that to protect myself or those around me I would do that also.
