How did you lose your last street fight?

Did you make a critical mistake, or were you just outclassed? Did you learn anything the hard way? What would you do different?

How did you lose your last street fight?
I've only been in one street fight and I won. That was before I took up the Martial Arts.

Since I studied Martial Arts I have always walked away, and I guess you could say, let the other guy think he won. Maybe he would have won anyway, who knows?
Reply:The whole fight was a 1 on 1 on 1. one guy had fallen and i turned around to finish the job buy kicking him in the face. By the time i had turned around to the other guy, he had scooped up a handful of dirt and threw it in my face and proceeded to kick the crap out of me, i'd say it wasn't fair but it was a street fight so i'm not to P.O.ed about it.
Reply:The most recent incident that I have had the missfortune to be involved in resulted from someone trying to hit on my girlfriend while I was sitting next to her. I politely told him that she was my girlfriend and asked that he leave our table, the drunken man stood and grabbed for my shirt over the table. I took hold of his hand and locked his wrist, then stood up controlled his elbow and walked him over to a bouncer and asked him to please explain to my new friend why violence is not the answer.

I then returned to my table and finished my beer. Oh and I also got in trouble for causing trouble from my girlfriend... Women huh? I though I was pretty diplomatic, he was having a go at me not the other way around lol.
Reply:I've never been in a street fight.
Reply:I've only been in only one street fight, the man turned out to be an ex-cop. The guy took a swing at me, i put my hands up, picked him up and I took him to the ground, when I started to ground and pound, somebody grabbed me from the back so the fight only lasted about 30 seconds.

My mistake was to fight in the first place, I learned that my friends have my back, as soon as somebody took me from behind when i mounted the guy, one of my friends took the other guy and applied a choke hold, 2 more friends ran and one punched the guy, and the other guy kicked him.

Streetfights are not adviceable, you could end up in jail
Reply:i fell on my face but then i got up and whooped him
Reply:Well, the last fight I had I won. However, the last fight I lost was a few months before the last one (both of them happened several years ago). The guy I was fighting was a lot bigger than me, and stronger too, and usually this wouldn't be a problem, because the "great" thing about street fights is that you will rarely come across someone who actually knows how to fight. Unfortunately for me on that fateful day this large fellow really knew how to fight. If he was my size I think I might have won, (still... he was a pretty good fighter) but every hit he gave me was like a brick, I almost passed out! I made 2 critical mistakes: I wasn't tough enough to handle his hits, and I didn't cover my head as well as I should have. When he first threw a punch at my head I thought I could just "swat" it away with my hand, he was so strong that he simply took my blocking hand along for the ride and socked me in the nose. After that I should have backed away to recover and shield myself, but I got angry and hit back instead. I hurt him but he immediately followed with a string of punches (having figured out that I couldn't block him very well), each punch turned my head to the side and he ended with an uppercut to my chest. I fell on the ground holding my nose and coughing for air at which point he kicked me in the side, cussed me out, and spit on my back. I know I passed out a little because I couldn't recall what he said to me or even feel him spit on me, I "awoke" a little later with spit on my back and a foggy memory. Not one of my best days. %26gt;(

If I fought him again I would cover my head with my forearms and go for his shins like crazy, I did that before on another big guy, eventually he would fall or stumble and then I would shove/kick him down, jump on him and pund him into the ground. %26gt;)
Reply:A won the battle but lost the war. I would have traded his broken nose and cut eye for my broken hand anyday. A broken hand (three times now) can hamper your boxing for good. It is simply best to avoid street fights. A fight that results from, booze, ego, and posturing is never a good thing even for the "winner". Getting jumped without provocation is another matter. Youthful testoserone poisoning and alcohol cause more fights than anything and it is just stupid. My perpetually broken hand is my lifelong reminder of my stupidity.
Reply:ive only had one street fight, and i won it. it was in October 2005.
Reply:Losing street fights is bad for ya health. BEOTCH!
Reply:I was taken down and pinned by my opponent, who then proceeded to shove snow in my face. The fight was broken up by his mother. I was 10. Since then I have found it very easy to avoid fights. Adults who have been in multiple street fights are clearly looking for trouble.
Reply:when I was at school, some dude was taunting me....we were about to get into a scrap and I looked back to see the teacher comming, it was then that he put me in a headlock, I could ave been in trouble if he started pounding me...I did not know how to escape from a headlock then.
Reply:I did'nt. It was 2 on one, me against a couple of hoodlums and I boxed those fools until they ran off like a couple of chickens.
Reply:ug i dont wanna get into a street fight i am too afraid i will kill someone humans are so weak when u think about it one punch in the right spot one kick to the knee its all too scary i dont wanna do that to anyone
Reply:I was blind sided. Sucker punched.

When I came to, I relized I was in hand cuffs for cracking his neck , and breaking both his clavicals.

I blacked out. I had no memory of the fight until the police showed me the video from the security camera.
