Are there any countries where duelling or consenting to fight in the street is legal?

I am about to start the dissertation for my law degree and I am entitling it, "The Legality of Full Contact Sports". I want to illustrate why MMA, boxing, muay thai etc IS different to a street fight due to the rules in place etc. However, I want to show that the rules governing sports are often ignored RE Mike Tyson, Duncan Ferguson etc.

What I am looking for help with is.....

The law as it stands in other countries with regards to assault/ self defence/ duelling, i.e. does anyone know if duelling is still permitted in any other countries?

Any help at all would be great!

Are there any countries where duelling or consenting to fight in the street is legal?
It's legal in America, when ever it happens they just file it under "self defense".
Reply:I have never heard about this. However, if such condition arises, then that wud b the end of the world.
Reply:I think Argentina. But that never really stopped anybody in Brooklyn.
Reply:WOW...GOOD QUESTION!!!and i am thankful you are help keeping mma (ufc) type fights legal...most people see only the blood and guts to the fighting...but personally i see an art...i love when both guys are showing the ju-jit-su art and it looks so cool...

but as far as being legal, like what they did in the past, like an old fashioned gun fight or the wehole walk ten paces thing....i dont know but i would like to know...

keep up the good work
