Why do most street fighters just swing and hope to hit?

Most street fighters suck at it. They dont know how to throw proper punches and duck their head and swing wildly. Why is that? Ive been training for mma for 1 year and have been in many street fights. The outcome is always the same the street fighter will come at me widely and come with a straight right to a take down. They never know how to sparawl so once on the ground they suck. Why thought do they fight like complete retards?

Why do most street fighters just swing and hope to hit?
You know what happened to every "street fighter" that came to the boxing gym I used to train at, "street fighter" guy?

They all got their cocky asses kicked because they're untrained and talk ****.

When I took TKD, we were taught at white belt to look out for your most typical punches and kicks thrown by a **** talking street fighter.

They simply don't know the art of throwing a punch or a kick and that's why you'll see 9 out of 10 times, you'll see this happen to the dumbass street fighter

Reply:WHEN it come to real street fighting all you need is

GRACIE JIU-JITSU, and that has been proven. GRACIE JIU-JITSU # 1 unless your talking about multiple opponents or weapons, then forget it I am RUNNING Report It

Reply:Gracie Ju Jutsu is a sport, it will always be a sport and it will forever be a sport. GJJ wrestles on mats. There are no mats on the street, there are only thugs that swing wildly. Report It

Reply:The last thing you want to do is get a thug that swings wildly on the ground where he would have close access to your face. Report It

Reply:It is called lack of training .
Reply:thats because they are not real fighters a real fighter would slip a punch shoot in for a double leg take down drop you on your head an walk away and if you got up from that he would throw a quick jab cross then thai clinch you with knees to your grill
Reply:because they don't know how to fight, or in thier street fighting experience, as is true with most "untrained" fights, the one who shows the most aggression first- will win.

Fact is that an aggressive non-trained fighter IMO has a far better chance at beating a trained martial artist who doesn't train with resisting opponents or opponents that attack him with that level of intent and aggression.

That is why "point sparring" MAists and "non resistance/sparring" MAists fall under the category of "untrained" here IMO.

If you have never trained to effectively defend against a realistic attack, then you are either not up to that level of training yet as you are just beginning or have not been training effectively.

EDIT: holy crap I can't believe someone actually took that crappy youtube kf guy vs street fighter seriously.

1- that guy looks like he is imitating a movie, totally impractical.

2- the only time he connected was when he started flailing his arms wildly.

3- the guy is obviously talking **** and pretending to know how to fight to scare the other guy off.

4- I can't believe anyone actually cited this as a "good" example of anything except humor.
Reply:Ok, picture yourself BEFORE you trained for a year in MMA....and imagine fighting someone who has trained in MMA...he would be asking the same question about YOU. Like the first responder said, LACK OF TRAINING.

Of course, I'm sure you can take out Kimbo Slice.
Reply:Simply put, it is because they are used to fighting others who also have no training. If you do not know how to block or parry a wild haymaker style swing- or don't SEE that sucker punch coming- it will clean you out. Even if you do get a half-assed block up, a wild haymaker will still do a lot of damage- usually enough for the guy to jump in on you and land several more. Usually this means end of fight.

Street fighters have a couple of these things that have worked for them in the past- a couple of "techniques" they know work most of the time. These techqniues along with a a nasty, aggressive manner will often get them exactly what they want. In other words a lot of violence and a lot of attitude works most of the time. It sucks, but it's true. That's why we train in Martial Arts. A guy who goes out looking for trouble is not usually such a problem for someone who is ready for them.

Reply:Not only lack of training but lack of discipline.
Reply:because streetfighters are arrogent pricks whos bark makes there bite about the same as the size of the great wall of china vs a dime. I love getting into fights with them ( even though I will try to stop the fight) because they above all other fighters need to be taken down a peg or maybe 50 pegs
Reply:Understanding how to win, and pretending are different.

Until people get pummled in a ground and pound they don't understand what unprepared is.

Need to be Prepared
Reply:you are discussing fights between people with no experience. the thugs that mug people dont piss around and do lame swings. I have seen the fights that go on for minutes, and they are noobs, drunks, wannabes, not the "Street Fighters" you assume all people fighting outside the dojo are.

it is not lack of training, but lack of real experience. Bluto is right (as always), and you cant learn to fight for real by not fighting realistically under similar conditions.

all you black belt wannabes are in for a shock.

you really are.

dont claim you cant survive a street fight by assuming the lame attempts you have seen are the only gauge of street thugs in action. when you fight for real, against someone who does want to beat up up, it happens so fast that you wont have time to use your finesse, and will be the noob you have seen so many times.

also, if you are under 25 you dont know sh!t about street fights. fighting another teenager is laughable. when you get out some more you will change your "I love beating up street fighters" view.

the people you believe are street fighters are only people fighting outside on teh street, not criminal thugs who fight and mug everyday.

the schoolyard does not represent the adult street, just like belts and trophy's dont mean you can fight in chaos. you can only spar in order.
Reply:at a guess i would say it wont be to long before some punches the snot out of you.and if that doesn't happen when you go to the ground someone is goind to kick your head in.if your trying to impress anyone with what youve posted your sadly mistaken.maybe your 10 year old brother might be impressed.

EDIT%26gt;one thing a lot of ppl forget is a lot of street fighters also have a lot of training to.
Reply:I love how a lot of people answer these questions with high assumptions and preachy snippets out of their own life.

To answer the question: Most people who want to fight aren't trained. They, most likely, don't even have the "street fight" experience because usually these types of people just run their mouths and someone with a little common sense diffuses the situation.

The guy with the most training and skill will probably be the guy who is polite and unassuming. Not the loudest guy screaming "C'mon, Whats-a-matter, puss....". That guy just has something to prove and no way to prove it.

Are you one of those guys? Training in MMA for 1 year + many "street fights" = potential jackass looser.

2) They are undisciplined.

Question: Why do you get into so many fights? You are either doing something to invite attack, have the wrong "friends" or hang out in the wrong places.

No matter how good you are, there are those who are better. The more fights you have, the sooner you will encounter 1 of these people. You will not enjoy that.
Reply:trust me, i am not one to judge. But apparently, you are a wee bit cocky. A sucker punch will shock you to the point of loosing, because you dont imagine a highly untrained guy can hit you. i have seen what you mean, in high school. its not the big loud mouth ones you have to fear, but the small skinny quiet ones you have to fear. ALl i can say is move to the outside and sweep the foot, it makes the loud mouth look like an idiot. I may only be 15, but i think my advice is as good as anybodies on here.
Reply:Just because someone doesn't train in martial arts, doesn't mean that he is therefore a 'street fighter'.

The term 'street fight' implies that there are no rules. An experienced street fighter IS something to be reckoned with because he knows what works when there are no rules.

I've seen plenty of martial artists with a bunch of techniques, who couldn't fight worth a damn. This notion that street fighters are not trained, and therefore not dangerous, is naive and will get you knocked out, hurt bad, or killed.
Reply:Because that is a normal response that someone has when adrnealine kicks in. Individuals who fight like that are usually inexperienced and are haphazardly hoping to hit something with weak feather punches. In my 10 years of bouncing and bodyguarding I have come to realize that there is a normal response and reaction to violence, everyone 99.9% of the time react in the exact same way. Remember human being are habitual and dont think "outside the box" when it comes to defending themselves against violence. After being in countless fights and watching a ton of them it's almost like being able to tell the future. You just know ahead of time how people are going to react.

P.S. regarding you being an MMA and fighting what's that about? You should know better. Also if you think MMA is going to help you on the street think again, it's sport not street fighting. If you end up on the ground for a long period of time in a street fight how do you know if the guy you are fighting doesn't have friends coming over and stomp on youe head or has a knife in his pocket to take you out?. If you were fighting a guy like me I would bite, rip yor eyes out and use objects around me to take you out. You are definitely fighting inexperienced guys cause mma suck out on the street I have worked with novice bouncers who were "MMA or martial artists" thinking they knew something when in fact they would get the crap kicked out of them and they learn very quickly that what they learned is just for sport. Ever see a UFC match where a guy uses a beer bottle to get out of an arm lock... nope...see my point .
