I saw some street fights and...?

damn those people cant fight, they just swing wildly and dont know the meaning of kicking or knees and once there on the ground they dont know what to do

is this what people do if they are not trained in a martial art

take a look at this video is this good representation of martial art, even though he could have avoided it

No matter how good you get at the "fight" game

there is always someone with your number in their pocket !!

So, if you're one of these folks that are into this stuff for the power and glory of the "game" -- you can expect to have your lunch served to you on a bed tray sooner or later !!
Reply:the link wouldnt open...

anyway street fighters have the eliment of surprize on their sides.they wont hesitate to pick up whats next to them either. usually street fights have NO NEED for ground work. once you hit the ground you pretty much lost especially if he's got friends. Usually people who street fight have back up somewhere and its usually behind you! this is where martial arts MMA is usefull more than any other style. its not over kill and they can stand up and finish you or take you down. you simply need to be well rounded to kick *** efficiantly these days because a lot of people are starting to learn more and more "practicle arts".
Reply:the link dont work.. but yea its true they just randomly swing... lol that how this 1 guy described a good fighter 2 me lol
Reply:those street fights with the swinging is actually a technique developed by "Flint", this guy: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?... , he calls it 'teh d34dly Trailer Park Propeller'
Reply:Who knows whether what you saw is representative of what the 'tough' guys do. I think what you saw shows the difference between self-estimation based on emotion and your own sense of what's right from you r training.

After living a long time in the Bay area I am now living in a great, polite, very macho part of the US, and while I've met a lot of guys(and women too) who are very strong-minded and opinionated I have not yet met anybody who really, by MY standards, can fight. No, that's wrong...two guys, two brothers, and they were training for the ring, in great shape with some great techniques.

But mostly anybody who's dangerous will have taken enough interest in the skills to have learned and practiced a few, and that's VERY rare.

I just give everybody total respect, hide my own skills, break the opponent if I need to, and let the fools slam each other around...it's entertaining. If you've paid your dues, it's OK.

But you should realize: if a guy who's studied finds out that normal doofus peole are stupid about fighting, something they think they have a right to have an opinion about, well, what does that tell you about people who have opinions about...international relations, or sex, or God, or...? see, you could be living among a LOT of opinionated incompetents in a LOT of fields...why not become an expert in something? don't voice your opinion: just study and practice privately a LOT and get the goodies, don't fight with anybody.

all the best from a VERY old martial artist who's thumped a lot of people in streets and alleys and other places...thanks for the video and question.
Reply:All u need is to throw one good punch and thats it. Violence is a very bad thing though. Peace baby! :)
Reply:Yes. That is extremely typical of untrained fighters. That doesn't mean that they aren't dangerous.
